In Victoria's Own Words
My journey in the jewellery and bridal industry began in 2007, and over the years, I have had the privilege of being part of one of the most meaningful moments in a couple’s life — the journey toward saying “I do.”
My hometown is Hong Kong, a city with a rich appreciation for craftsmanship, design, and timeless jewellery. Growing up there has deeply influenced the way I see jewellery — not simply as something beautiful to wear, but as something that carries emotion, tradition, and personal stories across generations.
While I was still in school, I had the opportunity to intern with a well-known traditional jeweller in Hong Kong. This early experience introduced me to the world of traditional jewellery craftsmanship, design, and making, and gave me a deep appreciation for the skill, detail, and heritage behind fine jewellery.
In 2007, I was honoured to receive a Merit Award at the 6th International South Sea Pearl Jewellery Design Competition. This recognition was especially meaningful to me as it affirmed my passion for jewellery design and encouraged me to continue developing my creativity and career within the industry.
I speak both Cantonese and Mandarin, which has become a meaningful asset throughout my career in jewellery. Being able to communicate with clients in their preferred language allows me to create a more personal and comfortable experience, particularly when helping families navigate an important and emotional jewellery decision. I truly value connecting with clients from different cultural backgrounds and understanding the traditions, values, and stories behind their choices.
My passion for jewellery led me to study Material Art and Design, specializing in Jewellery Design and Goldsmithing at OCAD University. This gave me a strong foundation in both the creative and technical sides of jewellery — from proportion and materials to craftsmanship and construction.
Designing jewellery has always been an important part of who I am. I love sketching ideas by hand and developing them into thoughtfully designed pieces, whether creating something entirely new or transforming a client’s vision into something uniquely their own. For me, the sketch is often where the story begins — a simple idea on paper that can eventually become something meaningful to wear and treasure.
Since 2007, my career has taken me through many facets of the jewellery industry, including jewellery design, goldsmithing, luxury retail, client service, and management. I have had the opportunity to work with respected jewellery houses including Henry Birks & Sons, Maison Birks, Van Cleef & Arpels, and a number of local privately-owned jewellers.
These experiences taught me that helping a client choose the right bridal jewellery is about much more than selecting a beautiful diamond or setting. It begins with listening.
Every couple has a different story. Some know exactly what they want, while others need guidance to discover their style. Some are drawn to timeless classics, while others are looking for something personal and unexpected. I enjoy helping clients navigate these choices, sketching ideas when needed, and bringing their vision to life.
As a jewellery designer and industry professional, I bring both a creative eye and a deep understanding of craftsmanship to the bridal experience. I believe the process of choosing an engagement ring should feel exciting and personal — not overwhelming. From the diamond and gemstone to the setting, proportions, and design, every detail should reflect the person who will wear it and the story behind it.
What I love most about bridal jewellery is that the relationship does not end when the ring is finished. An engagement ring becomes part of a couple’s story — there for the proposal, the wedding, anniversaries, milestones, and eventually, perhaps, passed down to another generation.
After nearly two decades in the jewellery industry, I still find it incredibly rewarding to be part of that story.
For me, jewellery has always been about more than beauty. It is about craftsmanship, emotion, individuality, and the memories attached to each piece.
And there is something especially meaningful about helping create a ring that represents the beginning of forever.
